I Am Mad. Is That Bad? is the picture book parents are reaching for when their toddler just can't find the words for those big, overwhelming feelings.

Written for children ages 3 and up, this emotional regulation book follows a young boy navigating anger — and discovering that feeling mad doesn't make him bad. Through warm, relatable storytelling and vibrant illustrations, children learn that their feelings are valid, manageable, and nothing to be ashamed of.

This toddler book about anger and big emotions helps children:

  • Identify and name their feelings
  • Understand why they feel the way they do
  • Calm their body and mind when emotions run high
  • Discover healthy, positive ways to respond

Perfect for bedtime reading, classroom libraries, or as a gift for toddlers and preschoolers, this children's book about emotions gives kids the language — and the confidence — to handle life's harder moments.

I love this book so much. So many children need to know that just because they are mad doesn’t mean they are bad people. It’s ok to experience different emotions and learn how to process them in healthy ways. This book can also benefit some adults, too! The illustrations are so dope! Definitely a book to add to the bookshelf!

This children's book is a must read for parents of toddlers and early school aged children ! It's engaging and tackles the challenges children and parents face when dealing with the emotions and " frustration" that most children experience. The illustrations are "eye- catching " and will certainly engage young and curious minds. My twin daughters are teenagers, however I will certainly gift the book to a dear sister friend whose 5 year - old daughter is active and expressive!

Sandy has done it again. Every book gets better, and this might be her best yet. The story is real. The little guy gets mad, then feels bad about being mad. That's exactly how it goes for kids. Then the dad kneels down, looks him in the eye, and says it's okay to feel mad, that doesn't make you bad. That moment is worth the whole book. The visuals are great too. You can read every feeling on that kid's face. And here's the thing: this book teaches parents as much as kids. It shows you how to meet a child in a hard moment. Kids become adults. Give them these tools now and they carry them for life. Fun to read out loud, and the feelings glossary in the back is a nice bonus. Grab this one for your kids. Great job Sandy.

I absolutely love this book. The messaging is so on point. It's letting the little ones know that "Mad" is an emotion; emotions aren't bad. This book teaches them how to understand and handle those feelings. It's truly a must-have. Truth be told, as a mature adult, it taught me something as well. Great job Sandy.
